Salicylic Peel
Salicylic Acid also known as Beta Hydroxy Acid or ‘BHA’ is similar to Glycolic Acid in the sense that it helps to exfoliate your skin cells but it does it at more of a superficial level. Salicylic Acid is derived from acetic anhydride, also known as your common household painkiller, aspirin. BHA peels are great for patients who have active acne and Actinic Keratosis also known as precancerous lesions since it’s keratolytic, which means it’s helping to break up the top layer of the epidermis.
Glycolic Peel
Glycolic peels, also known as Alpha Hydroxy Acid or “AHA” is an extract from sugar cane and is a safe and effective way to exfoliate your skins’ cell turnover rate. It’s important to do chemical peels monthly to maintain a fresh face so the build up of dead skin doesn’t happen. AHA peels dive deeper into the skin’s surface helping to reduce hyperpigmentation, evens out overall skin tone, and improves fine lines and wrinkles over time.
Cosmelan Mask
Cosmelan is the most leading edge medical mask on the market for patients with Melasma. This mask treats all skin types if you are struggling with pigmentation, melasma, pregnancy melasma and photo damage. Cosmelan literally targets your skins over production in melanin, helping to suppress it so create a more even skin tone. Cosmelan is typically repeated once a year. If you are looking for monthly maintenance on dark spots, check out our Esthetician page to find out what more you can do.

- Stop the use of all Salicylic and Glycolic Acids as well as any Retinol, Tretinoin & Retin-A for 3-5 days pre/post treatment.
- Staying out of the sun when the UV rays are at their peak as any chemical peels make your skin more photosensitive.
- Do not wear makeup on the day of treatment
- No sun-tanning or self-tanners 4 weeks prior to treatment (includes spray tans, tanning lotions, tanning beds, sun exposure, etc.)
- Some medications or supplements may increase the risk of bruising. Consult with your physician.

Acne PDT (Photodynamic Therapy)
The most popular option that we recommend to most of our patients with Acne is Photodynamic Therapy (PDT) It is a treatment used mainly for the decrease of skin pre-cancers (called Actinic Keratosis) But it is also commonly used off-label for facial skin rejuvenation, as well as the treatment of mild to moderate acne. PDT utilizes Ameluze (Aminolevulinic acid), a naturally occurring photosensitizing compound, to create a photochemical reaction that selectively destroys the rapidly over productive oil glands that cause acne to occur on the surface of the skin. cells. When PDT is done on an acne patient, we apply a BHA peel to help get rid of the fine top layer of any dead skin. Once the chemical peel is applied, we use the medication that penetrates deeper into the oil gland and then activate it by using our Red/Blue LightStim ProPanel. Typically 3-6 sessions is normal for mild-moderate acne. As with most acne, patients tend to scar, click here to find out how we can help you with acne scars!

Extractions
Extractions are done for patients who have clogged or congested cystic acne or milia (trapped pockets of an oil gland). Extractions can sometimes be covered through insurance but most of the time are not. Extractions take anywhere from 10-15 minutes. Most of the time our esthetician can extract anything on the face manually, with their hands. In some cases, our providers need to use extracting tools to help get the deeper congested areas unclogged.
Coolsculpting
Coolsculpting uses targeted freezing technology to help get rid of stubborn fat with no downtime! This treatment is non-invasive and works over the course of 6-8 weeks. The most popular area is the abdomen for patients but this treatment can be treated for unwanted fat in arms, above the knee, inner thighs, banana rolls, submental area, and upper and lower flanks. This treatment usually requires a few treatments to see optimal results. Results are permanent and treat 25% of the fat cells in the treated area each session.
